BlackRock 1895 Wereld Aandelen Enhanced Index Fonds is a passive equity fund from BlackRock, ISIN NL0014065450.
The Fund aims to achieve a return on your investment, through a combination of capital growth and income on the Fund’s assets, which reflects the return of the MSCI All Countries World Index, the Fund’s Index (the “Index”). The Fund is passively managed and BlackRock Investment Management (UK) Limited (the “IM”) has discretion to select the Fund’s investments. The Fund invests in equity securities (e.g. shares) and equity-related securities that, so far as possible and practical, make up the Index however the Fund may not hold all constituents of the Index due to the Fund’s ESG Policy as outlined below. The Fund may also invest in collective investment schemes (i.e. other investment funds which may be associated with the IM), derivatives, cash and money market instruments (i.e. debt securities with short-term maturities). Through these asset classes, the Fund may obtain indirect exposure to issuers that are inconsistent with the IM’s ESG analysis. The Index measures the performance of large and mid-capitalisation companies across developed and emerging markets. Companies are included in the Index on a free float-adjusted market capitalisation weighted basis. Free float-adjusted means that only shares available to international investors rather than all of a company’s issued shares are used in calculating the Index. Market capitalisation is the share price of the company multiplied by the number of shares issued. The Fund uses optimising techniques to achieve a similar return to its Index. These techniques may include the strategic selection of certain securities that make up the Index or other securities which provide similar performance to certain constituent securities. These may also include the use of financial derivative instruments (FDIs) (i.e. investments the prices of which are based on one or more underlying assets). FDIs may be used for direct investment purposes. In order to gain exposure to certain securities in emerging markets that make up its Index, the Fund may invest in American Depository Receipts (ADRs) and Global Depositary Receipts (GDRs). ADRs and GDRs are investments issued by financial institutions which give exposure to underlying equity securities. The Fund will not be permitted to have a direct investment in contracts for difference. Within 6 months from launch, the IM will, in addition to the investment criteria set out above, take into account certain environmental, social and governance (“ESG”) related characteristics when selecting the investments to be held by the Fund. The IM will seek to limit and/or exclude direct investment (as applicable) in issuers which, in the IM’s opinion, have certain levels of exposure to, or ties with, certain sectors. However, the Fund’s asset allocation will not solely be driven by this ESG analysis, rather such considerations will be utilised by the IM in determining whether an investment may be appropriate for the Fund. Such sectors may include (but are not limited to): (i) the production of controversial weapons (including, but not limited to, cluster munitions, anti-personnel mines, white phosphorus used in incendiary weapons or munitions, depleted uranium munitions, biological, chemical and nuclear weapons); (ii) thermal coal extraction and generation; (iii) the production and distribution of tar sands; (iv) tobacco production; (v) issuers which have failed to comply with UN Global Compact violations (which cover human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption) and; (vi) such other activities which the IM has determined (in its absolute discretion) conflicts with the IM’s consideration of ESG related issues or characteristics. The Fund will also seek to have a lower Carbon Emissions Intensity (meaning Score 1 and Score 2 GHF emissions normalised by revenue in US Dollars) than the Index. For further details regarding the ESG characteristics (and the applicable levels) please refer to the prospectus and the BlackRock website at: https://www.blackrock.com/nl/particuliere-beleggers/literature/prospectus/1895-fonds-fgr-esg-policy.pdf The IM may use derivatives to help achieve the Fund’s investment objective, as well as to seek to reduce risk (relative to the investment objective) within the Fund’s portfolio, reduce investment costs and generate additional income. The use of derivatives is expected to be limited for this unit class. Recommendation: This Fund may not be appropriate for short-term investment. Your units will be distributing units (i.e. dividend income will be paid semi-annually).
